Privacy Policy

Parity Wellbeing ("Parity", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our iOS app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

• Email address: Required for authentication via Supabase Auth.
• First name (optional): Used to personalize greetings in the app.
• Unique user ID: Generated by Supabase to link your data to your account.

1.2 Wellbeing Data

• ONS survey responses: Life satisfaction, worthwhile, happiness, and anxiety scores (0-10 scale).
• Demographics: Gender, age group, employment status, health status, marital status, and education level. These are used solely to provide national benchmark comparisons (ONS data) and are stored anonymously in aggregation.
• Journal entries: Text and optional photos you voluntarily create within the app.
• Goals and streaks: Wellness goals you set and your completion streak.

1.3 Technical Data

• Crash logs: Automatically collected via Sentry to diagnose and fix app stability issues. No personal data is attached.
• Device info: iOS version, device model, and app version for compatibility and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Personal insights: Calculate your wellbeing trends, weekly summaries, and AI-powered coaching tips.
• Benchmark comparisons: Compare your scores against ONS national averages filtered by your demographic group.
• Notifications: Send gentle reminders for daily check-ins (only if you enable them in Settings).
• App improvement: Analyze anonymized crash reports and usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.

We do not sell your data. We do not share identifiable personal information with third parties except as required to operate the app (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Sentry for crash reporting).

3. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in Supabase databases hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany) with AES-256 encryption at rest.
• Data in transit is protected by TLS 1.3.
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure you can only access your own records.
• Journal entries and wellbeing responses are stored in separate tables with strict access controls.

4. AI & Coaching Features

Parity offers optional AI-generated wellbeing insights. When enabled:

• Only anonymized score patterns (not raw journal text or personal identifiers) are sent to the AI model.
• AI responses are cached locally and never stored on our servers.
• You can disable AI insights at any time in Settings.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Export: Download all your responses, journal entries, and goals as a JSON file from Settings.
• Delete account: Permanently erase all account data, responses, journal entries, goals, and coaching history from Settings. This action is irreversible.
• Update demographics: Edit your profile information at any time from Settings > Edit Profile.
• Disable notifications: Turn off all push notifications in iOS Settings > Notifications > Parity.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Parity is an iOS native app. We do not use cookies, web trackers, or third-party advertising identifiers. The only analytics we use are anonymized crash reports via Sentry.

7. Children's Privacy

Parity is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child under 16 has used the app, contact us and we will delete the account immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app alert or email at least 30 days before they take effect.
